Thermal cutoffs are – similar to fuses – conductive components that will permanently open the circuit when exposed to a temperature in excess of their rated temperature. With such components you can protect your applications against excessive temperatures, but also against the risk of fire. ESKA offers you a wide range of rated functioning temperatures and rated currents. Thermal cutoffs are available in axial and radial leaded versions depending on the mounting conditions.
The performance of temperature switches is based on an integral bimetallic element that will open or close the circuit according to defined ratings. Temperature switches can be used to reliably control heating and cooling processes. They can also be applied for the protection against excessive temperatures, unless an electric circuit needs to be interrupted permanently.
